I believe that building muscle will indirectly improve your health and well-being more than just about any other factor. Weight training, in my opinion, is so far ahead of any other type of exercise, that comparisons become ridiculous.
You can literally change your whole life with the use of proper exercise. You can get stronger, build confidence, win affection, and live longer than you would otherwise. But you can also over do it. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

While you are striving to build muscle, remember that you also need to build your health. You need to make sure that you are building up your health and not tearing it down without knowing it. The human body is capable of some pretty amazing feats, but without the proper balance between exercise, rest, and proper nutrition, you may just dig yourself an early grave.
One of the most important factors that guarantees huge muscle gains, is the frequency of your workouts. Train too often and you won’t gain fast enough. Don’t train often enough and you won’t gain at all. But you need to find the right balance, or you will quickly exhaust your body’s ability to recover, and this can lead to some serious health problems.

If you don’t get enough rest between workouts, you won’t recover, and you won’t gain any muscle. Keep that in mind next time you head to the gym. Training too often can lead to some nasty health problems down the line, and also stop your muscle gains in their tracks.
Besides the fact that you can play havoc with your health by training too often, you can also make it extremely difficult to build muscle fast. Building muscle involves rest and recovery, as much as it involves working out with weights. Your muscles grow during rest, not during a workout.
While it may be hard for you to curve your enthusiasm long enough to keep from going to the gym every day of the week, that is exactly what you must do to gain muscle, and build your health at the same time.
